The authentic document and the French textbook Saison 1 (A1-A2), which we have chosen to analyze these documents, constitute the main focus of our thesis. Documents of any type can be considered as one of the most important components of the foreign language teaching/learning process. These documents can be introduced into the learning environment via the language textbooks or through the teacher, which is another important component of the process. Factors such as age and level play an important role in the choice of documents with functions like facilitating the learning process, helping learners in constructing meaning. In addition to the importance of choosing the documents that fit the intended skill, it is important to emphasize the importance of the quality of the chosen document to the motivation of the learners and the achievement of effective and permanent learning. Therefore, the contributions of authentic document in the learning environment are continued to be discussed and considered to enrich the learning environment. In this thesis, the aim is to analyze the authentic documents and to observe the frequency of their use in the book which was chosen. We analyzed the contribution of the various types of authentic document which were more frequently used.
