The product of interactions and the traditional knowledge memory, which constitutes the essence of the culture as a whole, is created, transmitted and continues to be kept alive by the interactions of human beings with each other and with nature. In this interaction process, there are cultural and economic dimensions of tradition culture based on the traditional memory of knowledge and experience formed around genetic resources. The main aim of the thesis is solved by cultural and economic traditional knowledge forms the basis of the tradition culture with economic and cultural sense, an important genetic resource that nuts and folklore for Turkey and the production of the proposal, including WIPO and UNESCO approaches. In this context, first of all, the concepts of cultural economy, traditional knowledge, genetic resources and hazelnuts are discussed for sample analysis. In the second part of the study, folklore hazelnut sample created with traditional knowledge and experience memory was evaluated with the materials determined in literature review and field research. The third part of the study is the clarification of the cultural economic dimension of traditional culture and traditional cultural expressions based on traditional memory of knowledge and experience with hazelnut sample as genetic source. In this last part of the research, traditional knowledge-based folklore, hazelnut and cultural economic and industrial uses and functional analyzes are presented. In this way, interdisciplinary approaches, which also take into consideration traditional knowledge and external dynamics in folklore, and therefore cultural studies, are explained with hazelnut as a genetic resource example.
