In this thesis, to find out and compare how folklore used in formal education both in abroad and Turkey, it is focused on the Article 14: "Education, awareness-raising and capacity-building" of the "Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage” which is one of the UNESCO’s basic cultural conventions that generated against globalization and single-typified. Educational practices of the "States Parties" are analyzed and compared with studies in Turkey via "Periodic Reports". It is also aimed that to create new educational material examples to add the difference to earlier studies.Thesis consists of four main chapters. After the description of the basic subjects in introduction, at the first chapter which is entitled "Conceptual Framework"; UNESCO, "The Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage" and the "Education, awareness-raising and capacity-building" Article 14 are explained, respectively.
