The aim of this study was to investigate the correlationship between isokinetic knee strength and dynamic balance of those completing 12 week rehabilitation program in patient with ACL reconstruction with hamstring autograft. To measure quadriceps and hamstring strength , isokinetic muscle testing (ISOMED 2000) was performed at 60˚/s and 180˚/s angular velocities. Y balance test with anterior, posteromedial and posterolateral reach directions was used to assess the dynamic balance. Isokinetic tests and balance test have been implemented on two groups of volunteering participants, all of which were male, with Control Group (n=30), Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Group (n=30). Pearson correlation test was used to determine the correlation betwwen knee strength and dynamic balance. When the values were assessed in statistical terms, in involved knee Quadriceps (r=0.48, p=0.001) and Hamstring muscle(r=0.51, p=0.006) strengths were found positively correlated with anterior reach distances of Y balance. . On the other hand, There were no correlation between anterior reach distances of Y balance and quadriceps and hamstring muscle strengths involved knee and control group. Correlation between posterior reach distances of Y balance test and muscle strength differed according to muscles and groups. İn uninvolved knee ( r=0.45, p=0.02) and control group (r=0.6, p=0.02) Quadriceps and Hamstring muscle strengths were found positively correlated with posteromedial reach distances of Y balance. On the other hand, There were no correlation between posteromedial reach distances of Y balance and muscle strengths in uninvolved knee. On the other side There were significant correlation between posterolateralbetween posterolateral reach distances and hamstring (r=0.40, p=0.04), quadriceps (r=0.51, p=0.007) muscle strengths, and correlated with quadriceps muscle (r=0.50, p=0.008) in involved knee.. There were no correlation between between posterolateral reach distances and muscle strengths in control group.
