In this study it is aimed (1) to examine the effect of perceived organizational support on organizational commitment and it s sub dimensions (affective, normative and continuance commitment) and (2) to compare perceived organizational support, organizational commitment and it s sub dimensions of the university teaching staff according to gender, status and their professional length of service. For the research of this study scanning method is being used. The study group is composed of 83 university teaching staff from a private university and 188 university teaching staff from a local university. In order to find responses for the research problems the Perceived Organizational Support and Organizational Commitment scales are used. The validity of these scales is measured by Confirmatory Factorial Analysis, whereas the scales reliability is measured by the Co efficiency Cronbach Alpha.
