Place of Multiculturalism in English Unlimited Used at University Preparatory Classes in Turkey

This study was undertaken to find out whether English Unlimited, which is a contemporary coursebook, is quality enough to meet the needs of language education in respect of multiculturalism as the course material. Starting from this point of view, it was tried to reach some recommendations for it and similar coursebooks by basing on the results of this study. To realize the subject better, literature was reviewed and according to the related literature, two questionnaires were prepared; one of them was for instructors who work at university preparatory class and the other was for students studying at the same university. All teachers who participated the study had enough experience to evaluate English Unlimited and the students had lessons for a school year by using English Unlimited Coursebook series (Starter, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate). In total, 52 instructors and 238 students participated in the study. All questionnaires were analyzed by using SPSS 20.
