In this study, industrial production of 201Tl radioisotope, which is produced for the first time in Turkey, and development of quality control tests of synthesized 201TlCl radiopharmaceutical, research on its test methods mentioned in various Pharmacopoeias, especially in Turkish Pharmacopoeia were aimed. The proton beam produced by the cyclotron type accelerator system located at TAEA-PAF was sent onto the solid target covered with enriched 203Tl2O3, for producing 201Tl. The production of 201TlCl Solution was carried out in the production hot cell, which was installed in TAEA-PAF. The 201TlCl solution was then divided into patient doses in the dispencing hot cell. In this study, 201TlCl radiopharmaceutical, which is used for the diagnosis of myocardial perfusion, breast cancer, heart and parathyroid diseases and imaging of tumors in various tissues and organs, was produced for the first time with national resources in Turkey and related quality control tests were carried out at Turkish Atomic Energy Authority - Proton Accelerator Facility (TAEA-PAF).
