Abstract
The aim of the thesis is to investigate the process of the artist’s defining the environment and his/her relationship with the environment through the concept of silhouette, silhouette-human. How a "silhouette" is formed based on the human being matured with the effect of cultural and environmental factors from an individual perspective was addressed in the study. A human being is exposed to negative guidance including political, social and environmental impacts in the situation defined as a transformation into a silhouette. These guidance were explained under the titles of power, place, mass culture, popular culture and migration and defined through the mediation built between the artist and silhouette-human. It has been noted in the study that the notion of silhouette and silhouette-human were encountered when the subject of social and political actors was addressed individually in line with the information acquired through the understanding of an individual art. Silhouettes are a way to express a form between disappearance and rebirth according to the artist. The silhouette believed to lose its connection with human is considered to build an authority apart from human and to provide its own autonomic fiction. The silhouette losing its connection with the objective world is formed of individuals having no emotions, being sleepy, lazy and deprived of being as himself/herself. It was subjected to a series of assessment while defined by the artist. During the evaluation, notions of silhouette, silhouette-human was examined through different meditation including evaluations regarding the point of views of other artists on the active substances which were significant for the creation and the continuity of a silhouette. It was concluded that the way of getting rid of silhouette-human notion defined as a negative condition was to understand the existing current negativity of the individual himself/herself. It is believed that the first action will be realized voluntary upon the comprehension of negativity and this will support getting rid of silhouette bringing the concern and courage.
