Art and art education is an important science of our age. Art education; it is an important requirement of modern life, which is necessary but has different methods and theoretical foundations such as science education. An important field that combines art with technology and art and science is undoubtedly visual arts education. This science has two main pillars: visual arts and education. It is aimed to raise individuals who know how to look and see with visual arts education, interpret what they see through different thoughts and feelings, develop imagination, creative, original thinking, analyze and communicate. Based on discussing the effect of visuality in art education, with this study in the light of these; it has been tried to determine the contribution of the representation feature of photography in interior architecture and its education, the importance of visual perception in this content and how it affects creativity. Face-to-face interviews with 8 participants attended by the instructors from 6 universities in Ankara were held to examine the perceptual aspect of the representation feature of photography in education. In addition, it was seen how the instructors giving the lesson on this subject interpreted and evaluated. For this purpose, the use of the representation feature of photography in the education program for the development of space perception and creativity in the design process will be discussed with its positive and negative aspects. At the same time, it is thought that the use of photography as an analysis tool in the evaluation of the space will contribute to space education based on the fact that it is one of the tools to eliminate the mentioned problems. Study ends with suggestions for the guide to be developed for an evaluation in Turkey’s interior design /architecture departments.
