This research; It aims to examine the individual problematic, which has brought many debates from the past to the present, with various indicators acquired from different periods and disciplines of art history (painting, sculpture, photography, cinema, installation). Since art is open to interpretation by its nature and to strengthen this interpretation, the object factor has also been added to the artistic creation. Therefore, these two concepts (individual and object) formed the main title and body of the thesis. At the beginning of the study, considering the concepts of individual and object separately, their meanings with anecdotes obtained from various thinkers; The process from ancient Greek civilization to Modernism has been tried to be explored. In the next stage, the figures included in the works created within the plastic / visual arts were tried to be treated as "individuals representing the age in which they lived". Because it is known that the subject that constitutes the art and the images within the art also have signs reflecting their own age. It has been attempted to answer many questions such as how the desire for the individual between the periods of Renaissance and Romanticism was transformed into another emotional state, especially in today's world, in the twentieth century and beyond, and how it was directed to other pursuits. Although the individual is thought to be in a structure that is taken under protection and shaped by written indicators (the laws in the legal system regarding the individual), in fact, this result has been reached with the researches and the arguments made by various thinkers that the unwritten culture has a greater effect. In spite of this, it is possible to see various handicaps in modernism trying to create a new cultural construction, which aim to uniformize and simplify the individual. In addition, concepts such as individuality, objectification, status, existence and identity that emerged with the concept of individual were also addressed. The reflections of these concepts in the art environment have been handled and interpreted. In the framework of visual arts, the object factor was used to get to know the individual, understand and interpret their mood. The representativeness of the objects has been greatly utilized, the position of the individual in the world of objects has also been tried to be questioned, and applications have been carried out in different techniques in this context.
