Türk Düşünce Hayatında Niyazi Berkes

Abstract

The main purpose of this dissertation is to examine, as a significant Turkish thinker and sociologist in Turkish intellectual and political life, Niyazi Berkes thoughts by analyzing and sorting out his writings from wholistic perspective a total and in-depth basis with support of his unique auto-biographical slices of life cycle in line with his academic and intellectual identity details.This dissertation comprises four main chapters. The first main chapter deals with the research information. The second and third main chapters delve into Niyazi Berkes s thought process, which is the basis of his life in general, involving his personality and for his academic and intellectual identity in detail. The fourth main section, regarding the data obtained in the previous sections, is targeting on detailed analysis of Niyazi Berkes coherent thought system by reviewing his scientific thinking aims.
