Derivative suffixes and the functions of these suffixes were tried to be found out from the scanned texts. While the derivational suffixes are handled in terms of their functions and derivation potentials, the morphosemantic and morphophonological properties of the suffixes are also emphasized. In the study, in order to examine the derivational suffixes in Turkmen in detail, newspapers, magazines, books of idioms and proverbs, fairy tales, epics, stories and novels published in Turkmenistan were used firstly.
