In this thesis, it is aimed to examine the similarities and differences in the content of dysfunctional parental modes suggested by Schema Therapy in people diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In the first study, the psychometric properties of the Young Positive Schema Questionnaire (YPSQ), in which early adaptive schemas were evaluated, were examined in the Turkish sample. The sample of the study consists of 332 participants who did not have any psychiatric diagnosis and 33 participants who applied to Hacettepe University Psychiatry Department with a psychiatric diagnosis. The findings show that psychometric properties of the YPSQ meet the criteria of being valid and reliable. When the two groups were compared, it was determined that the pschiatric group got higher scores from early maladaptive schemas and lower scores from early adaptive schemas. In addition, it was concluded that the group with psychiatric diagnosis had lower scores on realistic expectations, healthy self-interest, basic health and safety, and healthy self-reliance schemas. Finally, among the positive schemas, healthy self-interest schema predicted psychiatric symptoms negatively; among the early maladaptive schemas social isolation, approval seeking and pessimism schemas were found to predict positively. In the second study, chair work regarding dysfunctional parental modes was carried out with five female patients diagnosed with OCD. After chair work, the experiences of the patients were tried to be evaluated. As a result of the findings from both the chair work and the evaluation interview, 7 top themes were determined. These themes are; “You Must Do ‘My Right’ or ...”, “Looking from a Different View”, “Upon Obsessions”, “It Came from an Unknown Place”, “I Overcome It When Sit Across Me”, “Relief that Came After”, and “Feels Good, It will be Good”. The findings obtained from the two studies were discussed in the line with the relevant literature.
