Karizmatik Liderlik, Lidere Güven ve Duygusal Emeğe Yönelik Öğretmen Görüşleri: Trabzon İli Örneği

In this study, the relationships between charismatic leadership, emotional labor and trust in the leader were examined according to the teacher views. The sample of this research, patterned with a correlation survey model using a quantitative research approach, consists of 522 teachers working in public primary schools, secondary schools and high schools in all districts of Trabzon province in the 2020-2021 academic year. Emotional Labor Scale, Conger-Kanungo Charismatic Leadership Scale and Leader Trust Scale developed by the researcher were used as data collection tools for the research. In the data analysis frequency, arithmetic mean, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan, Tamhane tests, Pearson product moment correlation coefficient calculations, simple linear and hierarchical regression were applied. In line with research results, teachers' emotional labor behavior levels were found to be moderate. In addition, teachers are in the opinion that school principals demonstrate charismatic leadership behaviors and high levels of trust in the leader. Differences were detected according to gender and age in the charismatic leadership views of teachers; gender, age, school level in emotional labor views; and age, educational level and professional seniority variables in trust in leader views. Considering the relationships between the sub-dimensions of charismatic leadership, trust in the leader and emotional labor, significant relationships were found. A simple linear regression analysis showed that charismatic leadership is a meaningful predictor of trust in the leader. In addition, according to hierarchical regression analysis, charismatic leadership and trust in leader were seen to be a meaningful predictor of the lower dimensions of emotional labor.
