The main purpose of this research is to examine the effect of the technology integration model-based application on some reading variables of primary school 1st grade students. For this purpose, the research was designed in a single-group post-test weak experimental design and a single-group pre-test-post-test weak experimental design, and also benefited from the qualitative research method to support the data obtained. The research, which was carried out in the first literacy teaching process, was carried out in 21 weeks in total, 18 weeks of which were sound-based method-based teaching and 3 weeks of independent reading activities. The participants of the research consisted of 30 first-year primary school students attending a primary school at the middle socioeconomic level determined by the criterion sampling method. In the analysis of research data, dependent t-test, t-test for a sample, simple linear regression, descriptive statistics and content analysis were used. The application sample based on the technology integration model has been effective on the development of phonological awareness skills of primary school 1st grade students, their transition time to reading, and their reading speed and levels from paper and screen. It was determined that primary school 1st grade students made fewer reading errors in reading from the screen than reading from the paper, and the students' reading levels from the screen were better. It was determined that students' attitudes towards reading were quite high and also literacy e-portfolio scores were a significant predictor of paper and screen reading speeds.
