Abstract
The object themes on which still life painting tradition is based have changed and transformed over time, and in Contemporary Art Practices, the path opened by the historical avant-garde has assumed an unbounded understanding. In the modern era, the way we see the world has expanded and the Contemporary Art paradigm has transformed the still life tradition and created new alternatives. The relations between still life and today's three-dimensional object arrangements have been examined within the framework of the paradigm shift in art. In the new social order defined by mass and consumption culture, people have become passive in the face of their objects. That's why the tradition of still life, which focuses on objects as artistic expression, has gained more importance than ever before. Still life has become a style of representation that develops in direct relation with the transformations of social and artistic discourse. Within the scope of this study, flora, fauna, daily household items, food and vanitas paintings, which constitute the five main themes of the still life tradition, have been interpreted as five new states of the object in terms of the metaphorical roles of objects in contemporary art. The most important features of the contemporary paradigm reflecting the spirit of the time are interdisciplinarity and postproduction. By reconsidering these five main themes of the still life tradition, a subjective language has been put forward with an understanding that combines traditional and contemporary themes. Works are also containing relational autoethnographic memories, which is formed by the bonds established by the artist as a creative subject with his own experiences and objects.
