In order to improve indoor air quality, experimental studies were conducted for the use of antimicrobial effectiveness of PVC material containing silver ions. Antimicrobial effectiveness tests and durability tests were conducted for the determination of antimicrobial effect of this material and stability of this effect. According to tests results, PVC material have an antimicrobial property of 99.9% and this property were protected at varying environmental conditions. To represent the indoor environment, chamber test model was designed that made with compressed glass and volume of 1 m3. Most common in indoor environment microorganism’s solutions were injected into the model at the certain period and concentration. Bioaerosol samples were taken at certain periods and change in bioaerosol concentration was observed in the chamber test model. This study was carried out at 3 different conditions; with a standard PVC material, with silver ion doped antimicrobial PVC material and without any PVC material in the chamber test model. During the experimental period some parameters such as; temperature, particle size, relative humidity were measured.
