Abstract
Working activity, which has been an integral part of humanity from past to present, is a situation directly related to the human body.  Although this situation, which has to be undertaken to meet various needs, seems very normal to us, the insensitivity and alienation of the body and skin turns into a problem.  For the artist, who is very sensitive about social contradictions and the alienation of the individual, this situation has become an important conceptual content to work on.  In order to deal with the relationship between the act of working and the human body from an artistic point of view, works that may be related to the subject were examined and support was obtained from literature reviews.  The fact that the working body, which is exposed to different effects in different periods, is objectifying under all conditions has been supported by the researches and the works examined.  The artistic productions made within the scope of the researches have been such as to question the relationship between the body and the object in the context of the objectification of the working body.  The individual working in artistic productions in the thesis process is imaged as an object.  According to the artist, the act of working, although its effect decreases or increases depending on the conditions, means that it takes people away from the senses, which means that they reduce their human characteristics.  In the productions, a search for meaning has been made through different fields such as plastic art, video and installation art.
