Abstract
The relationship between the play skills of 60-72 month-old children attending pre-school education institutions, parent-child relationships and parental attitudes will be examined. While determining the sample of the research; In order to facilitate the process and implementation and to save time, the districts in Ankara were listed randomly in the first stage and the schools in the districts in the second stage. The scales were distributed by going to the schools in the determined order. In this direction, the sample of the research consists of the parents of 477 children attending pre-school education in Ankara. Data collection tools used in the research are Child Family Information Form, Play Skills Assessment Scale, Parent-Child Relationship Scale and Parental Attitude Scale. While using Independent Groups T-Test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Pearson Correlation Analysis, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis from parametric tests to analyze the obtained data statistically; Mann Whitney U Test, one of the non-parametric tests, was used. According to the results of the research; As parents' democratic and overprotective attitudes increase, children's play skills increase, and as their authoritarian attitudes increase, children's play skills decrease. Another result of the research is that as children's close relationships with their parents increase, their play skills increase, and the child's conflict with their parents decreases their play skills. In addition, 19.2% of the variability in game skill scores is explained by the parent-child relationship and parental attitudes. Democratic and intimacy sub-dimensions predict children's game skill scores statistically positively and significantly.
