With The Military Intervention made in 27th May 1960, The National Unity Committee was established by the officers took part in the coup, instead of The Democrat Party which had been in power. Whilst The National Unity Committee -which was hold by Cemal Gürsel as presidency and Alparslan Türkeş as prime ministry counsellor- was ruling about one year, some ideological disagreements were emerged in The Committee. Because of these disagreements, firstly, Türkeş was relieved of counsellory duty and then 14 member of The Committee –one of them was Türkeş- was nominated abroad. The committee members who named as 14s and been abroad as long as 2 years, divided into two because of the disagreements; and one of the group was leaded by Türkeş, the other one was leaded by Orhan Kabibay. The political and ideological disagreement in The Committee blocked the group from behaving “collectively” and the aforementioned members of the Committee made activities different areas. After he turned back his country, Türkeş established associations with friends who work with each other to get staff, but because The 21 May Insurrection started by Talat Aydemir, Türkeş and 3 friends were arrested. After the imprisonment wiped on 4,5 months, decided to join active political life. Then, after different enterprises, adhered into Republican Villager Nation Party(CKMP). The RVNP changed color as representing the doctrinal right with Türkeş who took the chairmanship after joining party in short time. At the elections in 1965, Türkeş and his friends were elected as parliamentarian. And in this period, Türkeş and his friends asserted the claim of being the political representor of Turkish Nationalism. Came from Pan-Turkist political tradition and because of the fact that his activity in 3 May 1944 Events had a shy at the imprisonment in his youth, Colonel Türkeş wanted to appeal to large right fractions and this willing caused to transform both himself and the settlement had been represented by him. Within this framework, the name of the party was changed as Nationalist Action Party and the emblem of party was changed to 3 crescents.
