Effects of Science and Technology on Woman Image: Cyborgfeminist Art and Cyberfeminist Art, Postgraduate Art Study Report, Ankara, 2017. The report titled, “Effects of Science and Technology on Woman Image: Cyborgfeminist Art and Cyberfeminist Art” embraces the phenomenon of body on the basis of woman image. Investigation of the phenomenon of body in relation with art within the context of feminism and technology constitutes the frame of the study. The phenomenon of body is investigated by reviewing literature on time zones comprising the past and the present based on its theoretical and artistic reflections. The first part embraces woman image and body, feminist women’s movements and acquisitions in the historical process, problematic of body, causality of masculine domination and performative body dimension under the main title, “An Approach to Woman Image on the Basis of Feminist Criticism”. This part also examines the social construction of body, its evolution to individual construction, as well as the effect and contribution of modernism and postmodernism to all these formations. Within the feminist framework; while the effect of institutions is examined under the subtitle, “From Social Structure to Language: New Theories, New Concepts”, the lingual / structural analyses are examined under the subtitle, “From Sexual Body to New Definitions of Body: Performative Body”. The second part evaluates the posthuman position that is formed as a result of the uncertainty of boundaries between the body, advanced technology and science, as well as human / animal / machine / artificial / natural / physical and non-physical under the main title, “Effects of Science and Technology on Woman Image: Cyborg Body and Cyberfeminist Art”. Construction of new body is examined under the subtitles; “Construction of New Body by Advanced Technology and Science: Cyborg”, “A Feminist Critical Attitude towards Biopolitics and Cyborg Interfaces OncoMouse, Modest Witness and Fellows”, “Effects of Technology on the Construction of New Body”, “Informatic Domination System and Women in the Integrated Cycle”, “Reflections of Multiple Media Technology on the Construction of New Body and Art, Cyberbody / Cyberfeminism”. In this context; cyborg body, cybernetic body and cyberpunk body are evaluated within the scope of cyborgfeminism and cyberfeminism. The third part aims to investigate women’s position within the context of technology and feminism and involve it in the field of art. The frame of the work consists of questions / answers regarding women’s positions in the private and public areas.Visibility / invisibility of woman’s body is evaluated on the basis of woman image viavideos; “Positioning I-Cave House” and “Positioning II-Neon City”. In order to codewoman’s body as a meta and domination area, the serial work; “Positioning- Meta Field- Bentderesi”, “Obey-Me” and “Missing Sender” are produced. It is observed that the adaptation between machine / body / information technology and decomposition patterns regarding gender are no more meaningful within the context of new body. The new body is supported by studies that are conducted with robots named “Beauty’s Technological Digestion”, “Beauty’s Friend and Technological Digestion” and artificial intelligence named “Siri’s Cyber Space Dialogues”.
