Legal unfairness in terms of gender equality, in other words with the social bias based on gender, the unjust representation of women in the legal professions can be clearly seen in gender-based numerical data. The unequal representation of women in the professions as a reflection of gender inequality also exists in the legal professions. In this thesis, the female representation in the legal professions in Turkey has been analyzed with the argument that this unfair situation is based on gender bias that is, not based on gender equality. With this analysis, the aim of the thesis is to reveal the reasons of unequal representation of women in the legal professions. In the direction of the thesis’s aim, the experiences of women in the legal professions have been taken into account in order to they determine their place in the legal profession. In this context, in order to share female experiences, semi-structured in-depth interview technique from the qualitative research methods has been employed. Semi-structured in-depth interviews with 19 women in the legal professions are conducted from the sample group formed on the basis of the criteria of representation, experience, and sensitivity to women's problems. The data obtained from the interviews have evaluated from a gender perspective and discussed on the basis of glass ceilings the encountered. This dissertation supports the argument that the representation of women in the legal professions in Turkey is not based on gender equality. At this point, it has come the conclusion that the importance of gender-based education and the mainstreaming of gender, the qualified representation rather than quantitative representation should be supported regarding the representation of women the legal professions.
