Abstract

The topic of this thesis is relative clause constructions in Kyrghyz. Although Turkic Languages are generally similar to each other in terms of relativization, there are some semantic differences. In the classification of the relative clause constructions in Turkic Languages there were stated some differences in some languages including Kyrghyz ones. Therefore, the scope of this thesis was to state the structure and functions of the relative clause constructions in Kyrghyz. In this thesis, we have tried to determine the function of the headmarked relative clause contractions, which are unique only to some of Turkic Languages, including Kyrghyz.
