In this study it is aimed to give a different perspective on the methods of word teaching which is applied for foreigners in Turkish teaching by considering conceptual fields and cultural memory process for vocabulary learning. In line with this purpose, the studies on Turkish vocabulary teaching for foreigners have been studied, the memory studies have been considered and an example of using audiovisual tools is given in the thesis to provide the retention of word in memory. In this thesis, which studies can be carried out for students to understand and to use the word better in Turkish teaching as a foreign language are reviewed and also the information about how word is placed in memory as part of cultural memory based educational method is given. In this study it is also considered how semantic and semiotic studies can be carried out more effectively in vocabulary teaching. This study also tries to take attention to the fact that different studies can be done to fill the gap of vocabulary teaching topic which is generally discussed in some reference books in Turkey.
