When determining the method to be used in shielding effectiveness measurements, the size and shape of the screen material together with the cost, applicability, time consumption and frequency range characteristics to be used in for the screening material are taken into account. Free space and shielded box methods are the most basic methods of shielding effectiveness measurement. However, the need for the development of new methods has arisen, as the use of anechoic test chambers and testing equipment is costly. In this context, considering the size and shape of the screen material, the ability to use the small size samples of the planar materials in the tests provides benefits in terms of applicability and cost. For all these reasons, lower cost and structurally simpler methods such as the coaxial holder method and the dual TEM cell method have been developed while evaluating the shielding effectiveness of plane materials. In this study, unlike the dual TEM Cell method, a single TEM Cell was used in two identical parts called the flanged TEM Cell (TEM-t) method. TEM Cell is structurally divided into two symmetrically parts from the midpoint. Test samples are placed at the midpoint of the transmission line. It is aimed to perform shielding effectiveness measurements as a result of the measurements performed with both the reference and the sample materials. With this study, a flanged TEM cell was produced. The purpose of this study is to analyze the screening properties of small sized planar materials with TEM-t cells that are designed and manufactured.
