Organizations would be successful as far as they comply the demands of the economically, socially and technologically changing environment surronding them. As the success of the change interventions mostly depends on the workers’ resistance or support for the change, resistance to change became an important issue for the organizations. The process, context or the outcomes of the change may be the reasons for the resistance; however several researches show that some people resist change free from these reasons, only due to their personal charactecteristics and dispositions. From this view point, we used two different personality constructs to analyze the behavioral resistance to change. First construct is the broader one, Core Self Evaluations which consist of core evaluations people make about themselves. Second construct is Dispositional Resistance to Change which consists of individual differences oriented to change. In this research, the effects of Core Self Evaluations and Dispositional Resistance to Change on Behavioral Resistance to Change; also the mediation role of the Dispositional Resistance to Change on the relation between Core Self Evaluations and Resistance to Change Behaviors is investigated by “path analysis” method. As the changes become perminent in the service sector and the human capital is the most important factor of this sector, two accomodation facilites is selected for this research. Blue and white collar workers from two different hotels participated to this research. Two different change scenarios is used to analyze the participants’ behaviors towards change. First scenario consists of an important change which affects workers’ tasks more and the second scenario reflects a less important change which does not affect workers’ tasks. On the behavioral resistance to change part, both resistance and the support behaviors of the participants is analyzed. In other words, effects of individual characteristics and dispositions on the support and resistance behaviors is investigated in both scenarios. According to results, as Core Self Evaluations increases, individuals’ dispositional resistance to change increases; also generally a positive relation between dispositional resistance and resistance behaviors is found. Moreover, dispositional resistance mediates the relation between Core Self Evaluations and Behaviors Towards Change.
