The boundaries of visual communication design are expanding and changing every day, and new communication tools and structures surround us. The visual effect design area of these new tools is undoubtedly a different place. The term visual effect has been known for over a hundred years as a method that combines art and design with science and technology. Visual effect design, especially on the use and effects of cinema, after the invention and development of the computer, it emerged years ago with the use of optical analogue machines in this field. But with the digital studies carried out in the 1980s and later, it started completely a new era in the narrative of cinema. A century ago, photo-graphic special effect techniques were replaced by scientific design techniques, which were digitally analysed completely in a computer environment, which can be done through special software used by expert designers and which force the limits of imagination. Today, this new implementation method, which is defined as Digital Visual Effects design and animation, has emerged with creative works of fantastic and fictional scenes that were previously impossible to design and edit. It plays an integral and decisive role in the field of media and visual communication, combining Digital Visual Effects design, art and technology from animation films to feature films, television productions to advertising and computer games to interactive media and beyond. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the importance of Digital Visual Effects design, especially in cinema, which has become a cultural and economic production industry all over the world in a multi-dimensional way, and thus to try to eliminate the lack of knowledge in this field. For this reason, this study objects to be a fundamental source in the fields of media and visual communication design, and especially in higher education, it is aimed to open new educational programs and projects to make an innovative academic impression to the future.
