Çocuklara Yönelik Şiddet ve Bağlanma İlişkisinin İncelenmesi: Futbol Altyapı Örneği

The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between violence against children and attachment styles in football youth setups Sports activities that can contribute positively to children's self-esteem and bio-psycho-social development can only be achieved by providing safe, healthy and child friendly sports environments for children. Quantitative method was used in the research. The sample of the study consists of children between 14-18 years old who continue their sport life in Çınar Spor, Akderegücü and İncirlispor football clubs and purposive sampling method was used in the sample selection. In this study, Questionnaire Form prepared by the researcher and Three Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale was used as data collection tool. The Questionnaire Form contains questions to reveal the socio-demographic characteristics of child athletes and their families, informations on children's sporting lives and the football club they belong to, children's experiences of being a victim of violence and being a witness of violence, what happeden the after violence and thoughts of children about violence. The Three Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale consists of questions to reveal the attachment styles of child athletes. Within the scope of the research, it has reached 111 volunteer child athletes and the datas collected from the participants were analyzed by a computer program called SPSS Statistics 20 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). According to variables percent values, avarage values and standard deviation value were identified. After Smirnov-Kolmogorov test, it was determined that the data did not show normal distribution. Therefore, to identify whether there is significant distinction and relation among the variables or not the data were analyzed by nonparametric tests (Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis). It was determined that children were exposed to and witnessed all forms of violence in football youth setups. It was found that among children who reported being exposed to violence, children seeking a solution to this situation have more anxious-ambivalent attachment style than those who ignored the situation. It was determined that the children who stated that they would not share their violence experiences with someone in an environment where they felt comfortable have more avoidant attachment style than the children who could share. It was found that children who stated that they had witnessed violence have more anxious-hesitant attachment style than those who did not witness.
