While learning/teaching any language people face with some problems and make mistakes. In case of teaching Turkish as foreign language there are also many problems. During last years it has been seen that Georgians who tried learning Turkish also encountered these problems. In the basis of our work we discuss what kind of problems encountered Georgian students while teaching them Turkish case suffixes, what kind of mistakes students were making; and in order to avoid the repetition of these mistakes we offer possible solutions for the encountered problems. In our work we identified mistakes related to the case suffixes contained in the paperworks of Georgian students who learn Turkish, the mistakes were grouped according to the noun cases; there is an attempt to find out the causes of these mistakes and to propose solutions in their teaching. The functions of Turkish and Georgian noun cases have been also emphasised. The suffixes of absolute, accusative, ablative, locative, instrumental and dative cases are given along with their functions. The database of our work consists of written questionnaires of 43 students with knowledge of Turkish at Basic and Intermediate levels from Turcology department of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The mother tongue of students who study at Turcology department is Georgian. It is hoped that the conclusions and proposed solutions in our work will be useful to those in Georgia who learn and teach Turkish case suffixes as foreign language.
