İlkokul Bahçelerinin Mevzuata Uygunluğu ve Eğitim Paydaşlarının Okul Bahçesinin Kullanımına İlişkin Görüşleri

The purpose of this study is to identify the appropriateness of primary schoolyards’ to the legislation and the stakeholders’ opinions concerning the schoolyard usage. After analyzing the schoolyard regulations, schoolyards’ appropriateness to the legislation was evaluated via the school managements opinions, and also primary schoolyards’ current situation and the primary school teachers opinions for the ideal schoolyard was identified, studied via the primary school teachers opinions. The universe of the study are teachers and school managements working at the public primary schools in Ankara, and 352 teachers and 59 school managements working at the public primary schools during 2017-2018 academic year in Ankara constitute the sample. The quantitative research method and survey model were used. Two different survey forms were used as data collection tools. The school managements opinions on legislation and the primary school teachers’ opinions on schoolyards were identified with the survey forms developed by the researcher. Also, the researcher studied the schoolyards she visited and took schoolyard photos after getting permission from school managements. Photos are placed under the suitable titles and they contributed to the enrichment of the thesis. While analyzing the data, Statistical Package Program for Social Sciences 20 (IBM SPSS Statistics 20), descriptive statistics (percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean) were used. At the end of the research, it is obtained that there is disharmony between the current schoolyards’ situation and the schoolyards defined at the legislation in Çankaya district, and the schoolyards fail to satisfy teachers’ and students’ necessities.
