PAŞA, Dicle. THE ROLE OF THE RELIGION OVER ARAB ALEVI WOMEN AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE PATRIARCHY, Master of Science Thesis, Ankara, 2019. This study based on three main arguments. Firstly, it refers to historical process through the reflections and transfers of gender in the society.Such topics astransition to patriarchal society,the constructions and institutions formed by gender roles and theconnections of these topics with the religion are discussed.Secondly, it is explained thatthe societies searching for meaning thruoghout history, the culture of attributing the roleof “divine determinism” to men in polytheistic religions and monotheistic religions,with this determination, the strength of man's power in society, the transformation of patriarchal codes into social codes and “acceptances” and the influence of these over women onthat process.These social assumptions, the “norm” alliance of women'ssecondary status in social life, and the connection of religion, which is one of the corenuclei of the heteronormative, patriarchal and capitalist system, with these situationsand processes are discussed.Finally, the connection of Arab Alevism with otherreligions as an ethno religious identity, the influence of women's life practices inthis society and the women's own experiences and their comments on patriarchy and equality between men and women in the Arab Alevism were explained.
