In this study, vocabulary teaching in foreign language and foreign language teaching methods are investigated. Strategy training is emphasized in vocabulary teaching. This study aims to present how vocabulary teaching, having an important role in language teaching, is taught in Turkish as a foreign language course books. This this research, the vocabulary teaching techniques and exercises in B1 Turkish course books will be investigated, and their frequencies will be examined. In the first part of the study, foreign language, second language, foreign language teaching methods and strategy education are mentioned. In the second part, the relationship between vocabulary- culture and vocabulary- memory is mentioned. At the same time, the skills that are dominant in teaching vocabulary and achievements in vocablary are mentioned. In the third part of the study, vocabulary teaching with literary texts is mentioned. In the fourth part, the teaching techniques of vocabulary teaching are reflected in the materialsused. In the last part,it is revealed to what extent vocabulary teaching waysare included in books in Turkish B1 level.
