It is considered that education can be effective and high level objectives can be achieved by the harmony between teachers, students and current teaching programs. In this study, it is aimed to examine the place of subject ‘’virus’’in education programs and to find out its convenience for biology teachers and secondary students in high school education. In this context, the subject of virüs in biology and health education curriculum of secondary education, which includes the virus subject is evaluated in terms of class level, content and gains. Therefore, the sample of the research consists of 9th, 10th , 11th and 12th grade Public Anatolian High School students from Central District of Ankara. While the study group comprises of some biology teachers (26) and students (51) from those schools. The quantitative data collection tool is a questionnaire developed by the researches and called ‘Views on Viruses’. However, for qualitative data collection, ‘a semi-structured interview form about viruses’ were used. According to the results obtained in the study, the number of gains and the time allocated for viruses in the secondary school biology and health sciences curriculum is insufficient, and it is seen that the fact that the viruses subject corresponds to the end of the semester creates disadvantages in learning the subject. Explain the content of the subject and the daily life according to the importance given by students and teachers in situations where viruses are learned.
