Mindfulness, defined as non-judgmental-present-moment awareness, seems to be a relation between well-being and working life conditions has been examined with different extents and has been the subject of interventions. Mindfulness of pediatric residents has not been studied in Turkey, and given the complexity of interaction between work and personal life there is an importance to assess this interaction. In this cross-sectional study, it is aimed to investigate sociodemographic characteristics, health status, wellbeing, work-related quality of life and mindfulness among pediatric residents working in Ankara with questionnaire prepared in accordance with the related scales and variables based on personal notification, and to evaluate potential relations between these characteristics. Pediatric residents who were continuing education at six universities and four teaching and research hospitals in Ankara were invited to complete a survey assessing demographic characteristics, health status, wellbeing (The Mental Health Continuum Short Form), work strain (Swedish Demand-Control-Support Questionnaire), working life quality (Work Related Quality of Life Scale), and mindfulness (Mindful Attention Awareness Scale). Of the 486 pediatric residents, 355 of them completed the survey forms (completion 73%). In the study, gender (females), regular alcohol consumption, having health complaints and chronic illness, taking regular medication, low income adequacy score, low well-being score, low working life quality score had a significantly lower mean level of mindfulness score. Pearson’s and Spearman’s coefficient values indicated low-moderate positive correlation between mindfulness and well-being, working life quality, job and career satisfaction, working conditions scores.
