In this study, the activities in A1 level German language coursebooks for teenagers will be examined. Accordingly, “Schritt für Schritt Deutsch”, which is a local coursebook package written for the students studying at state schools, and “Logisch”, which is a coursebook published abroad and used at private schools in Turkey and abroad, will be examined and the activities in these coursebooks will be identified. Based on these findings, a group of experienced teachers will respond to the questions about the coursebooks that they are using. The teachers participating in this study are teaching at state and private schools. It is aimed to highlight the importance of activities in coursebooks by demonstrating the variety and spread of the activities in the books and presenting teachers’ objective evaluations with regard to these materials. In addition, effective activities and innovative ideas will be suggested to the teachers and students at state schools in our country. This research is specifically significant as it proposes suggestions to the material developers and program designers for German L2 learners.
