Quality Assurance of the leaf velocities is important for the accuracy of treatment in Dynamic Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT). The aim of this study is generating a quality assurance test for determining the variable velocities of multi leaf collimator for the lineer accelators which have the option IMRT. The basis of test is the determination of the velocities by the aid of a digital camera recordinf 30 frames per second and comparing the results with the dynalog files of treatment machine. We observed significant differences between data of dynalog files and digital camera results. These values are determined as; at Varian lineer accelator 0° for carriage A %3 (p=0.04) average, for carriage B %1 (p=0.3) average, 90° for carriage A %3 (p=0.3) average, for carriage B %1 (p=0.2) average, 270° for carriage A %1 (p=0.8) average, for carriage B %8 (p=0.02) average. The results of the Novalis lineer accelator are; 0° for carriage A %0.3 (p=0.07) average, for carriage B %4 (p=0.06) average, 90° for carriage A %0.2 (p=0.9) average, for carriage B %1 (p=0.3) average, 270° for carriage A %0.7 (p=0.3) average, for carriage B %1 (p=0.1) average. The quality assurance test that we generate is succesfully determine the velocity values of multi leaf collimators and we have usable results when we check the machine data. We recommend the use of the test as a period of 3 month when we consider the time necessity for each patient in institutes.
