Abstract
Retrospective Evaluation of Parameters Affecting Implantation in Anterior Maksillary Region, Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry, Specialization Thesis in Periodontology, Ankara, 2019. One of the main factors that should be evaluated in dental implant surgery is the properties of bone. Although clinical examination is important, due to factors that may affect immediate implant placement such as form, shape, structure, anatomical characteristics of bone; radiographic evaluation is valuable for accurate planning and long-term success. The aim of this study is to evaluate the parameters affecting the immediate implant applications in the anterior Maksillary region before surgery with Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). Buccal bone thickness, buccopalatinal bone thickness, apical bone height, and presence or absence of fenestration/dehiscence of the upper anterior 4 incisors of 150 patients were measured on CBCT images. The age, sex and smoking of each patient were also recorded. The highest rate was found in thin bone phenotype in BBT. In addition, the measurements of 2 and 5 mm apical lateral teeth, 8 mm in the central teeth were found to be thicker BBT. BPBT was thicker in central teeth and males, but no difference was found in smoking and age groups. FD rate was higher in women. While ABH was found to be higher in men, no statistically significant difference was observed in smoking and age groups. In light of these results, a thin buccal bone wall was found in the Maksillary anterior teeth, which could eliminate the benefits of immediate implantation unless adequate and accurate planning was made for the maintenance and stability of the surrounding soft and hard tissues. Therefore, augmentation of the implant site is recommended to achieve an aesthetic result in the presence of a thin buccal bone wall. To achieve successful aesthetic results; rigorous preoperative analysis and appropriate treatment approach are required.
