In this study, the mediator role of coping strategies and gender roles attitudes on the relationship between women s marital adjustment and psychological symptoms were investigated. The relationships between sociodemografic characteristics of participants and their marital relationships, psychological symptoms, coping strategies and gender roles attitudes were also examined. The sample included 248 married women, between age 19-73. Participants completed Demographic Information Form, Marital Adjustment Scale, Ways of Coping Questionnaire, Brief Symptom Inventory and Gender Role Attitudes Scale.As a result of the hierarchical regression analysises,it is found out that there is a statistically significant correlation between women s marital adjustment and their psychological symptoms, indicating that, the marital adjustment decreases as the psychological symptoms increases and Submissive and Helpless Coping Approach have mediator roles in this relationship.
