In this study, the socio-economic and cultural characteristics of entrepreneurs operating in the Technology Development Zones in Turkey, and economic structures of their businesses were analyzed using the questionnaire and interview techniques. High growing and stagnant businesses were compared based on these features. Social and economic factors associated with the achievements of entrepreneurs have been identified. For start-up processes and achievements of entrepreneurs, their family structures, education, socio-cultural environment, experiences, business period activities and potential level of social capital that they can benefit are effective besides economic and political factors.
