Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine interpersonal sensitivity and conflict resolution approaches. Research is made of located within the boundaries of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has a bed capacity of 100 and over, 400 nurses who are working in 33 hospitals. “Demographic Data Sheet”, “Interpersonal Sensitivity Scale” and “Conflict Resolution Approaches Scale” were used as data collection tool. T Test, One Way Analysis of Varience, Tukey Test and Pearson Correlation Analysis were used for data analysis. It was found that the mean of thr score of the interpersonal sensitivity is below average, at the interpersonal conflict resolution approaches the scores of confrontation, emotion expression and self-disclosure are above average, the scores of public/private behavior and approach/avoidance is below average.The level of interpersonal sensitivity, timidity and fragile inner-self of the nurses who are married, have a child, have two and more children are determined as higher (p<0.05). It is determined that the level of timidity at nurses’ is higher in workers of public hospital ( ̅±SS=20.12±4.39, p=0.029), workers of polyclinic nurses ( ̅±SS=21.56±3.96, p=0.003), nurses who never meet conflict ( ̅±SS=23.22±6.32, p=0.017). It is found that the more educated nurses are used confrontation approach in conflict resolution ( ̅±SS=82.56±11.89, p=0.001). It is found out that when social interaction the frequent of meeting a problem decreases, the level of interpersonal awareness is decreased ( ̅±SS= 14.95±2.91, p= 0.012). It is found that nurses’ interpersonal sensitivity subscale of interpersonal awareness and need for approval between confrontation, emotional expression and self-disclosure there is a weak relation in negative direct. It is determined that there is a weak relation in negative direct between seperation anxiety, timidity and fragile iner-self which are interpersonal sensitivity subscale and total score of interpersonal sensitivity and conflict resolution approaches subcales. In direction of these results, it may be adviced to be disclosed the causes of according to nurses’ working of unit and hospital timidity and fragile iner-self score being high with quality studies, to be consisted of protective advisory program indirect of decrease of interpersonal sensitivity and education programs to be gained effective ability of conflict resolution.
