Gökçeada ve Bozcaada’Dan 01.01.2009-31.12.2013 Tarihlerinde 112 Ambulansları ile Sevk Edilen Hastaların Ambulans Hasta Kayıt Formlarının Değerlendirilmesi

This descriptive-cross-sectional study aims to evaluate the ambulance patient record forms of the cases transferred from Bozcaada and Gökçeada by Çanakkale Emergency Health Services between 2009 and 2013. The universe of the study is composed of all of the ambulance patient record forms of the cases transferred from Bozcaada and Gökçeada from 01/01/2009 – 31/12/2013. A total of analysed 1.144 forms were analysed. In regard to the cases transferred from the islands, 62.7% of them were male; 18.6% of them were aged between 20 and 29; the average age of the transfers was 46.9 (S=24,363, min-max. 0-95 age) and the median age was 46. 28.1% of the forms examined in the study were recorded in 2012; 39.5% of them were recorded in summer season; 16.6% were in the month of July; 17.9% were on Monday; 37.1% were between 12.00-17.59 hours, and 61.5% were recorded during the transfers from Gökçeada. 64.1% of the transfers were activated for medical reasons and 83.9% of them were activated with telephone through 112 emergency call system. The blood pressure, pulse and respiration averages of the transferred patients were generally in the range of normal values and the Glasgow coma scale average was 14.6. Moreover, 33.5% of the transfers were pre-diagnosed as trauma. Furthermore, 66.7% of them were inter-hospital transfers and 80.3% of them were transferred to State Hospital. In the process of transfer between medical facilities, 54.8% utilized a maximum of three ambulances. During these transfers from islands, in terms of the types of ambulance vehicles, ground ambulance (through ferry) was the most frequently used by 44.7%; sea ambulance was the second one by 29.7% and air ambulance was the third frequently used by 25.6%. It was found statistically significant that the air ambulance affected the other types of ambulances adversely and that the transfer route of air ambulance was used more than others and the ground ambulance was used more between 18.00-05.59 (p<0,001).
