This study aims to investigate the relationship between reality shock and organizational burnout regarding opinion of highschool teachers. Participants were 755 teachers who works at state highschool in Muş central district. In order to determine the levels of reality shock at highschool teachers, the reality shock scale was prepared by researcher. Burnout Inventory which developed by Maslach and Jackson (1981) and adapted by Ergin (1992) was used for examine organizational burnout levels of teachers.As a result of reliability analyses, two scales were decided to be reliable data collection tools. Mean, standart deviation, independent samples t-test, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation and multiple linear regression analyses were used with SPSS 20.0 for analyze data.Regarding study results, highschool teachers had moderate level of reality shock. There was non-significant relationship between reality shock and gender, marial status, educational background, experience in profession and school types. Organizational burnout levels were moderate at highschool teachers. Findings showed statistically significant relationship only between organizational burnout and educational background as more experienced teachers burnout levels were higher than new teachers. Regarding results of correlation, there were a significant, positive, moderate relationship between reality shock and organizational burnout. According to analyse results, reality shock could be a significant predictor of organizational burnout.
