The release agreement was not regulated legally in the period of the Code of Obligations No. 818, its implementation was left to doctrines and judicial decisions. During the period of Law No. 818, the rules to be subject to the release agreement were basically determined by taking advantage of the provisions on release in the Swiss Code of Obligations of 1911. For the first time, the release agreement was taken under the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 and regulated legally.
