Abstract
It is seen that diseases such as heart and lung diseases, cancer types, diabetes, and stroke are essentially preventable diseases through the use of preventive health care when diseases that are among the leading causes of death in the world and negatively affecting human health are examined. Preventive health services are services that allow to protect present health, to create a healthier society, and early diagnosis and treatment of risks that may arise. In this context, it is important to determine the level of use of preventive health care in the current situation, which are important both in the protection and development of public health and in reducing the costs of health services, and to determine the factors that are effective in their use. In this direction, the aim of this research is to reveal the level of use of preventive health care (flu vaccine, blood pressure measurement, cholesterol measurement, blood sugar measurement, fecal occult blood test, colonoscopy, breast self-examination, mammography, pap smear test) in Turkey and to determine the factors that affect the decision of individuals to use these services. In this direction, the model of the study was created by utilizing the 2019 data of the Turkey Health Survey conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institute and by using the Integral Model developed by Wilber. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the internal individual factors (gender, age, educational status, marital status), the external individual factors (health status, physical activity), the internal collective factors (social support) and the external collective factors (social security) have affected the participants' behaviors of using preventive health services. It is thought that the results obtained will be useful in policies to be made for these services and in raising awareness among individuals.
