This master's thesis study was in the Ottoman Empire in the XVI. It is about the life of Rüstem Pasha, who lived in the 16th century and left his mark on the period as one of the most important viziers of Suleiman the Magnificent. XVI.- XVII. In the study covering the century, the whole life of Rüstem Pasha from his childhood to his youth and death was mentioned, and what kind of a trace he left in the Ottoman Empire with the marriage of the Sultan with his daughter and the women who ruled the harem were examined. Rüstem Pasha's perception of Rüstem Pasha was tried to be determined by examining the characteristics of Rüstem Pasha as a state administrator, his character features as well as his physical features, by making use of the Chronicles, Classification Works and Literary Works. The study aims to determine both the common features and different points of the information about Rüstem Pasha by making use of both foreign sources and sources in the Ottoman Empire. In addition to this, the personal thoughts and evaluations of the local and foreign travelers, ambassadors, and poets of the period who visited the Ottoman Empire were compared, as they saw the image of Rüstem Pasha, which is the main subject of the study, and Pasha, who played the leading role in the issues that shape the survival of the Ottoman Empire. It has been tried to clarify the perception of Ottoman historians and to identify differences and similarities in perception with other sources. It has been tried to evaluate the positive and negative perceptions of the sources and their perspectives on common issues. As a result of the examination, it was concluded that while a positive perception was created in both Ottoman and foreign sources about Rüstem Pasha's state affairs and when the Sultan was in question, there was a negative perception when it came to Pasha's personal affairs, especially because he took bribes.
