In the study titled Comparison of Ilyas Esenberlin and Kemal Tahir's Novelism in the Focus of Historical Novel the main purpose is to compare the novelism of İlyas Esenberlin and Kemal Tahir, two summit personalities who write historical novels in contemporary Turkish literature and contemporary Kazakh literature. Another aim is to examine the similar and different aspects that emerge in the focus of the works around the issue of method of comparative literary science. The first source that constitutes this study was İlyas Esenberlin's trilogy of Nomads (Almas Kılış, Jantalas, Kahar). This work; after examining the subjects, structure and follow -up issues in the forefront, it is decided that Kemal Tahir can be compared with the works of the Devlet Ana, Esir Şehrin İnsanları and the Kurt Kanunu.
In the first part of this thesis, which consists of four parts, the bond of the historical novel with history and literature is examined. In the second chapter, with the development of the historical novel in Kazakh and Turkish literature, historical novelist identities are examined from the selected works of Esenberlin and Tahir. Here, the conditions of the period in which the works are published and the elements of the time of the work are evaluated together. In the third section, in terms of the structure of the works; In the fourth section, there is a comparison of content. The resulting results show that Turkish peoples, which are based on a common past, are shaped around common subjects. Leading statesmen are revealed through novels, how the poets and poets, women and clergy, who enriched the life of society, develop in the memory of a nation. The way to establish an independent political order in the process of the construction of the nation is to establish and protect the integrity of the peoples. Relationships with other states form clues about the future of peoples. These data require to search for a new method in the study process. As a result of these efforts, it is foreseen that a study that could be used as a source in the field of contemporary Turkish literature.
