Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the scope of the use of "informal language" and its differences from other language uses, which have not been sufficiently studied in the field, and then to determine the location of the unsloped language in the use of Turkish as a foreign language. In the first part of the study, the concept of language that forms the basis of the subject and the linguistics and sub-fields are explained in the historical process. Because the informal language falls into the subject area of community language, the social linguistics, history and general language types are included in chapter 2. In the 3rd part of the study titled "Contemporary Approaches and Techniques in Foreign Language Teaching", the "communicative approach", "action-oriented approach" and "constructive approach" that have been frequently applied in the field have been emphasized. In the 4th part of the study, the differences between slang and informal language concepts were tried to be explained by logging into the standart language. In order to show how often informal language is used in everyday life, audio recordings and translations in METU Oral Turkish Association are examined, and the unsubscribed words and phrases mentioned in the compilation are listed together with the word type and edificance values and explained the language levels in the dictionaries. In the same section, the informal language usages of Turkish teaching books at A1, A2, B1 and B2 levels as the most used foreign languages in the field were scanned and the oral compilation was examined here. Finally, the findings obtained from the oral compilation were compared with the "informal language" data from Turkish books as a foreign language. At the end of the research and evaluation, it was determined that although it is used a lot in everyday language, Turkish teaching books as a foreign language do not include enough informal languages and suggestions were made in this regard.
