Azerbaycan Türkçesindeki Algı Fiillerinin Metaforlaşma Yoluyla Çokanlamlılaşması

Abstract

In this study, the polysemy of perception verbs in the Azerbaijani language will be examined from a cognitive perspective. In this context, dictionary verbs and their meaning extensions, representing the five basic senses in the Azerbaijani language, namely vision, hearing, touch, smell and taste, will be discussed. In addition, the principles of cognitive linguistics as well as the information regarding cognitive semantics concepts will be given. Moreover, the concept of polysemy will be emphasized. The semantic expansions of perceptual verbs in the Azerbaijani language based on the conceptual metaphor theory will be evaluated. A general evaluation of this research will be made at the end of this study.
