Abstract
The concept of space, in addition to being the basic concept of the architectural discipline throughout history, has also been an important subject in art and other disciplines. Especially in the works produced under the influence of Dadaism at the beginning of the 20th century, the fact that the work of art was replaced by the art object and the relationship of the object with the space gave the concept of space an important position in art. By using the space as the language of expression of their works, the artists have increased the meaning and effect of their works. Different art disciplines that emerged in the course of time have led to the emergence of new works by adhering to the art object-space relationship. One of these art disciplines was the new media art, which showed its first effects in 1950. New media art has become a new and contemporary method of expression by bringing art and technology together. The most important feature of this discipline is that it has adopted Dada and brought the mentality of the works to the fore. In this context, the relationship between object and space is frequently seen in the works. New media art emerged with the development of technological tools such as television, camera and projection at the beginning of the 20th century. These tools are used as a means of communication in the works and the aim of the artist is to convey the mentality to the audience in a different language. In the first part of this art work report, the general definition of the concept of space and the importance and place of this concept in the history of art are examined, while the development and change of its relationship with the art object in the historical process are explained with examples. Under the title of art object, the transformation process of everyday objects into art objects is discussed. In the second part, the formation and development of new media art in art history are examined and examples of works produced in this discipline; In particular, the effects and traces of new media art are explained by showing ceramic art. In the third part, original artworks were applied on ceramic surfaces with the opportunities offered by new media technologies, and the works were examined in a conceptual dimension, adhering to the subjects discussed in this art work report.
