In this study, using a control group consisting of healthy children; It is aimed to evaluate orofacial dysfunction, its relationship with maxilla development and the effect of NAM on orofacial dysfunction in children aged 6-10 years with cleft lip and palate. The control group consisted of 30 people aged 6-10 years. Individuals with cleft lip and palate are divided into 2 groups as BCLP and UCLP groups, with 30 individuals in each group. UCLP and BCLP groups are divided into 2 groups as individuals with and without NAM. There are 13 NAM (+) and 17 NAM (-) individuals in the UCLP group, and 14 NAM(-) and 16 NAM(+) individuals in the BCLP group. Each individual included in the study was evaluated for orofacial dysfunction using the NOT-S. Cephalometric analysis was performed and for the Goslon and Bauru indices, a dental plaster model was taken. NOT-S scores were found to be higher in individuals with CLP than in the control group. There was no difference between the UCLP and BCLP groups in terms of NOT-S scores. Resting facial condition and facial expressions were the areas with the highest scores on clinical examination. Dysfunction in nasal breathing, speech, oral motor function, salivary flow, chewing and swallowing functions were observed in the CLP groups compared to the control group. In the UCLP group, anamnesis, clinical xamination and total NOT-S scores decreased in NAM (+) individuals compared to NAM (-) individuals; There was no significant difference in the BCLP group. In cephalometri, maxillary retrusion was observed in the UCLP group in children aged 6-10 years; In the BCLP group, maxillary protrusion is seen because the premaxilla is in the protrusive position. There was no difference between groups in terms of SNB, ANS-Me. In the BCLP and UCLP groups, the inclination of the upper incisors decreased as a result of increased lip tension after surgical interventions. There was no difference in cephalometric values between NAM(+) and NAM(-) individuals.
